- Kathy Soderborg VanderVeur and Laurel Soderborg Cundick have graciously offered to provide the dinner for the reunion. It would be very much appreciated and helpful if you could RSVP to laurie_cundick@yahoo.com if your family is planning on eating at the reunion. This way she can plan for a menu and determine the price. It will probably be around $10 a person and include a chicken dish, salad, roll and yummy dessert.
- You may also leave your RSVP on this blog under the comment section. Thanks!

Mike and Rosemary (Rosy) Curtis Neider
Hi cousins! I am Rosemary Curtis Neider. I am married to Michael A. Neider. I am the daughter of Carrol Romney Curtis, youngest child of Park and Vilate Lee Romney.
This is our family at our son's wedding in 2006. Back row, left to right: Kirstin Knapp, Carrol Norton, Mike and I, Curtis Boyd Neider, Heidi Neider, Nicole Sargent. Front row, left to right: Donna Neider, Jamie Jensen and Michael Neider Jr., Natalie Neider.
We live in Sandy, Utah with our youngest daughter Donna (16 yrs.) and she attends Skyline High School. Curt recently graduated from BYU and married Kelsie Neeley. Heidi graduated from the "U" and now lives with friends in Midvale, Ut. Natalie attends Utah State as a freshman. Nicole and Nate Sargent live in Heber, Utah with their soon to be 5 children. Carrol and Mike Norton live with their 5 children in Gig Harbor, WA. Kirstin and Mike Knapp live in Taylorsville with their two children. Mike and Jamie have a new baby Annie!
I want you to know that I have always loved being a "Romney".
I loved going to the cemetary on Memorial Day as cousins
and then going up the canyon for breakfast.
Grandmother Vilate Romney has always been an important part of my life.
I still remember when I was 12 years old, standing on the corner of Temple Square
and admiring the temple while I ate my first sherbet.
It was evening and the lights were on. We then went back to her apartment to sleep.
She taught me to crochet on Sunday afternoons (after she recovered from the wild
convertible ride with me through unnecesary neighborhoods.) Was she ever a good sport!
I don't remember ever hearing her complain unless
it was the sadness she felt at losing my mother at such a young age.
I honor her memory as well as those of dear aunts, uncles and cousins that have passed on.
I look forward to celebrating the lives of our grandparents with you in October.
PLEASE COME to our reunion and let me give you a hug!
Much love, Rosemary
ROMNEY BOOK, ETC.
Hooray for Israel! I have been reading the "rough draft" of the new Romney Book to be published for our reunion. Just wet your lips folks! ... It is almost unbelievable that we could descend from such remarkable people! I am honestly in awe of our heritage.
Natalie Curtis McCullough has spent countless hours working and reworking this information, making it easy to read and understand. She is always typing, typing, typing. Her daughter Megan Vilate McCullough Clayton has been at her side organizing the pictures for your enjoyment.
Marsha Romney Stratton has spent who knows how much time gathering lots of information and pictures (more than will fit in this book) and putting them on a disk. Hopefully she will make lots of copies for us to be shared at the reunion?!
Robyn Curtis Anderson is hoping you will respond quickly with your final historical drafts on the children of Park and Vilate as well as updated information on births, deaths, spellings, etc. of all descendants of these 9 children. (andersonmarmie@att.net) (if you have questions.)
Cindy Berg Palmer will be making a directory to hand out at the reunion using the information given to Robyn.
It may seem overwhelming what YOU are asked to do, but THANK YOU! Thank you for responding with love and offers of help.

100 Year Wedding Anniversary
100 year wedding anniversary of Park and Vilate Lee Romney, our Grandparents. It will be held this October 3rd during
Conference weekend starting in the morning on Friday for the older die hards and again that night. I’m sure that some will even meet at lunch because they have stored up so much to ask their cousins. This will be the first Romney reunion of this nature and this size in the history of the clan since Charlemagne tried to bully the Romneys in Old Romney, England(which we visited you know and got the story first hand from the town librarian). We would like to get all of the third generation to attend(that’s us old geezers), who are now grandparents themselves, and as many fourth and fifth generation children as possible since Romneys don’t hold reunions but once a century.
